Installing Split nuts

The bolts for our saw kits should be countersunk to a depth just slightly less than their thickness. This is so one can sand them flush following assembly. However, you can sink them to be just under the surface if desired. We will add some pictures to illustrate the steps at a later time. For now, the steps can be performed in the following sequence using common tools.

  1. Using a Forstner bit of the same diameter as the nuts and bolts you have received, drill to the desired depth at the location of the bolts and nuts.
  2. Drill the through holes for the bolts using a 3/16
