General Shipping Information

Military Addressing

Our goal is to ship all orders within 48 business hours for in-stock products. Custom or back-ordered products will be given estimated shipping dates in our communication following an order. While we will endeavor to ship your order as soon as possible, occasionally shipping and delivery may be affected by factors outside our control and so cannot be guaranteed.

Our shipping calculators use live rates from FedEx and the United States Post Office (USPS) for orders depending on the contents or whether the order is going to the Continental United States or outside it. We are not responsible for these carriers' respective on-line status and they do experience service outages once in a while.

Shipping to locations outside the United States could result in your country imposing taxes and or fees based upon the value of the order. These taxes and or fees are not the responsibility of Wenzloff & Sons. We use the proper codes on all paperwork for your country to properly assess these taxes and or fees.

Ensuring Address Accuracy

Incorrectly entered addresses may delay shipment until we can verify you address. Please enter address information in the appropriate boxes and double-check for typos and other entry errors.

Special Addressing Instructions for APO/FPO Addresses

We gladly ship to our service personnel. There are three special entries for choosing between the "state" codes of AA, AE and AP. These all being with "Military ... " as the state name. Your shipping address screen needs to appear similar to the screen shots below to ensure that the USPS web site can return a shipping rate without error.

Please note that until the code is altered for FedEx's live rates, there will be an error message for the FedEx rate section as in the graphic below. This isn't an issue for continuing with your order (we cannot use FedEx to ship to APO/FPO addresses anyway), but we can understand the error message might be disconcerting. I'm working on removing the error message altogether.

Military Addressing

In short, a military address needs to have the following information in the indicated fields:

  • City field: Enter APO or FPO.
  • State/Province/Region field: Choose the "Military ..." entry with the appropriate two-letter code for the region where you or the ship to recipient is stationed.
Typically, but not always, the code is "AE" for recipients stationed in Europe, parts of Canada, Africa, or the Middle East; "AA" for recipients stationed in the US and parts of Canada; and "AP" for recipients stationed in Asia or the Pacific.
  • Zip/Postal Code: Do not use the zip+4 format. See the note below.
  • Country field: Always make sure that "United States" is selcted from the drop-down menu regardless of where the recipient is stationed.

Further examples from the USPS web site:

SSGT Kevin Taylor
Unit 2050 Box 4190
APO AP 96278

Seaman Joseph Doe
USCGC Hamilton
FPO AP 96667

Please note the lack of the zip+4 format of the postal code in the examples. The USPS web site live rates more often than not return an error when used. If it is important for your station, please include it in the Comments form on the Order Confirmation screen during check out. We will then use the full postal code when we prepare the customs form(s).

All shipments to APO and FPO addresses are sent via U.S. Postal Service. Typically there is a 5 to 7 business days for delivery once the order has been shipped. However, some destinations may take up to 21 days depending on where the recipient is stationed.
