Saw Kits

All kits supplied with every component necessary, with the selected PPI cut into the blade and ready to be sharpened and set. If desired, we can also sharpen for a nominal $10 charge. Learning to sharpen is a challenge, but with properly spaced teeth is not too difficult. New saw sets are available which make setting the teeth easy and we have included instructions. Files are also available from several suppliers, or we can include one in your kit--as well as a saw set--for an additional charge. Brass is fitted, but not chamfered. Tools not included. Full instructions provided. For a current of a PDF of the instructions, click here. A pictorial of shaping a panel saw handle is here.

Split nuts and bolts. We have split nuts and bolts for sale. We have (and use on various saws) 3 sizes of bolt heads and corresponding nuts. These are 7/16", 1/2" and 9/16". Bolt lengths are 1". Price is $4.50 a bolt/nut pair, any size.

Handles for kits or replacement are cut to shape and all saw bolt holes drilled to size. All shaping of the handle is done by the purchaser. All kit saws with backs have a solid, slit back.

Brass split nuts are used to attach the handles, though of a slightly larger bolt size to ensure lifetimes of use without bending or wearing through.
